Yong Ying-I

Yong Ying-I is Chairman of the Central Provident Fund (CPF) board and Senior Advisor at Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI). She is also Chairman of SGInnovate and Deputy Chairman of Singapore Symphony Group.
Ms Yong has had an extensive career in the Public Service stretching over 3 decades. An economist and MBA by training, she served as Principal Private Secretary to then-Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in 1997, before being the founding CEO of the Infocomm Development Authority, and later on, its Chairman. She was also the founding Chairman of the Workforce Development Agency, and Chairman of the Civil Service College. She held many leadership positions within the civil service, including as Permanent Secretary in 6 ministries – Ministries of Manpower, Health, and Communications & Information; and Public Service Division, National Research and Development, and Cybersecurity. Ms Yong’s public service experience includes extensive work on leadership and talent development, organisation transformation and cultural change, and establishing partnership and collaborations with multiple parties across sectors.
